St. Johns County, FL – Mosquitoes have become even more of a problem in Florida after Hurricane Matthew, Anastasia Mosquito Control has received more than 1,000 calls a day about mosquito problems since the storm.
“I live on the marsh. It’s a constant battle, but that’s Florida. That’s just the way it is,” St. Johns County resident Andrew Romaine said. “Especially after a hurricane — a lot of standing water and stuff like that — there’s going to be some mosquitoes.”
On Wednesday, October 19th, Flights took off from Palatka Airport about 7 p.m. and then Anastasia Mosquito Control conducted aerial spraying from 8 to 11 p.m. Wednesday to combat the outbreak of mosquitoes.
